Merchant's comment:Thank you for your product feedback. In our experience these screens will typically fail when they are allowed to run with their holes covered up. What happens at that point is that since juice cannot pass, the auger tries to pass the juice and cannot and as a result puts tremendous outward pressure on the screen as a result of the accumulated pulp between the screen with clogged holes and the much harder auger, resulting in the screen cracking. The best way to minimize this is to watch juice output constantly. At the very first sign of slowing, you must stop and clear the screen holes. Most people continue to juice well past the point where the screen holes are clogged which will result in a broken screen almost every time. Wheatgrass and leafy greens add even more risk of breakage since most do not cut the grass down in size before feeding, resulting in the grass wrapping around the auger, and then once again filling the space between auger and screen to the point of breaking the screen as more is added. ADVICE: stop at the first sign of juice output slowing and be sure to cut your wheatgrass down to 1-2" blades before feeding.

Merchant's comment:Thank you for your feedback. It is important to note that the screen you received was likely a latest model screen that will only fit the #2 Drum. Omega recently changed the screen without notice to its retailers, resulting in the issue of the screen not fitting for those customers who bought a new screen trying to fit a generation 1 juicer (without the #2 on the drum housing). We're sorry for this. Had you contacted us, we would have explained the need to upgrade to the new drum in order for the screen to fit.
